We Can't Go Unless You Send Us
Missions is an extraordinary concept that we didn't fully understand until talking through it with our mission mentors. We would initially try and think of ways that we could go out into the mission field without having to ask people to support us. We thought it would be so great if we had outside income to fund our service for the Lord. However, we were missing some of the blessings of being a missionary when these selfish thoughts arose. We are all called, in some fashion, to minister and serve our neighbor, whether that be a physical neighbor or one on the other side of the world. American Christians sometimes forget that we are Christians as part of a broader world, not just the United States. We all have a part to play in making disciples of all nations and spreading the gospel to the lost. Some people are meant to physically go while others are meant to send them out and support them while they are serving. When we ask for support from people, we are offering an opportunity for them to participate and be involved in the work of our Lord in other areas of the world. Many people are unable to go out into the international mission field because of things such as family, job, prior responsibilities, etc. So, we are actually indirectly allowing others to serve with us, to love with us, and to go out into the field with us. We are actually opening up more of a blessing to others if they partner with us than we would receive if they simply supported us. The Lord has put a specific mission and vision in our hearts and we fully trust in Him that he will provide all the necessary funds for us participate in that. The real question is: who in the Body wants to receive the blessings of being apart of that? If you are interested, please click here to learn more about supporting us. And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" |
